Office of Research and Sponsored Programs
Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) supports faculty/staff with grant award management. This support includes proposal submission; contract review and initiation; and administration of awards including financial oversight, project management, reporting, and grant close out. RSP ensures compliance with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines as well as university policies.
Office of Research Ethics and Compliance (REC)
The Office of Research Ethics and Compliance oversees University-wide compliance with University policies along with federal and state laws and guidance regarding the conduct of ethical research, including financial conflicts of interest and academic integrity. REC also assists with the administration of the following boards and committees:
- Institutional Review Board (IRB): Ensures the protection of the rights and welfare of human subjects participating in research.
- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC): Oversees research involving live vertebrate animals, providing protection for both the animals and personnel working with animals.
- Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC): Overseen by Environmental Health and Safety, the IBC is responsible for research involving hazardous waste, infectious disease and recombinant DNA.
Office of the Comptroller
Payroll Office
The Illinois State Payroll Office supports the University in producing timely and accurate compensation payments to University employees, including those hired on grants, in compliance with federal, state and University regulations.
Purchasing
Purchasing is responsible for assisting campus units in the procurement process at Illinois State. Their duties include issuing purchase orders, reviewing and processing contracts for goods services, and oversight of bidding process.
