No-Cost Extensions

Sometimes principal investigators encounter delays that preclude them from completing the research within the sponsored project's period of performance. When this happens the PI should review the award terms and conditions to determine if they can request a no-cost extension.

If an extension of time is allowable or is not specifically addressed in the terms and conditions, please complete the No-Cost Extention Request and post award staff will review and approve the request. The request will then be forwarded to RSP's Contract Negotiator for formal submission to the sponsor.

Once sponsor approval is obtained the principal instigator will be notified and ISU systems will be updated.
