The current required training on Financial Conflicts of Interest is available via an NIH tutorial. However, additional training is available as described below.
In order to facilitate various training requirements, ISU has subscribed to a comprehensive research ethics training program called the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). Persons not affiliated with ISU, but named in a protocol, are eligible to enroll in CITI training through our site. If you have completed CITI training through another institution, please contact the Research, Ethics, and Compliance Office (REC) at 438-2529 or REC@ilstu.edu to determine if additional courses may be required.
The course selection page is divided into six questions. Question 5 pertains to Responsible Conduct of Research. These courses are currently only required if the research is being conducted under certain external grants, although all researchers are encouraged to complete the courses related to their research. For all non-applicable courses, be sure to either leave the question blank or to select the "none of the above, I am interested in other CITI training courses" option. If you have any questions as to whether you have enrolled in the appropriate course, please contact REC at 309-438-2529 or REC@ilstu.edu prior to beginning the course.

Once a course is completed, you may print out a Completion Report from the Main Menu of CITI. The Completion Report contains a unique Reference ID number that provides traceable proof of course completion. REC is able to verify the authenticity of CITI Completion Reports and may be contacted at 309-438-2529 or at REC@ilstu.edu to do so.
Please note that falsification of a CITI Completion Report is a violation of ISUs Research Integrity Policy, and if discovered, will be responded to accordingly.
